Lung Cancer Screening (CT)

CT Lung screening is a non-invasive imaging procedure which utilizes low-dose CT (x-ray) to image the lungs without using intravenous contrast. The CT images are then reviewed by a board-certified Naperville Radiologists to identify nodules and identify if they are benign, malignant appearing, or whether additional testing needs to be completed. The early detection of lung tumors can increase the survival rate with early treatment. In addition to the lungs, the other areas of the chest are also reviewed for additional abnormalities. Typically, patients that qualify for CT lung screening are patients with a history of smoking, lung cancer, or exposure to other cancer-causing agents. The results of any abnormal screening test is discussed within a multidisciplinary conference which allows different specialties to work together to create the optimal follow-up or treatment plan.  If you qualify for a CT Lung Screening and have an order from your physician, please call Edward-Elmhurst Central Scheduling to schedule with Naperville Radiology at Edward Hospital at (630) 527-3200.
