Body Imaging (Chest/Abdomen/Pelvis)

Body imaging is a specialized field in Diagnostic Radiology which utilizes different imaging modalities such as MRI, CT, Ultrasound, and x-rays to identify the anatomy and diagnose abnormalities. Depending on the modality, these can be used to identify infection, tumors, bleeding, abnormalities of your veins/arteries, and evaluate your pregnancy to name just a few areas. Naperville Radiologists have Board-Certified Radiologists who have extensive experience in Body Imaging. Our Radiologists play a key role in multidisciplinary conferences in the hospital at the Gastrointestinal, Lung, and Genitourinary tumor boards. This allows different specialties to work together to create the optimal follow-up or treatment plan. If you and your physician think you are in need of a Body Imaging study and you have an order from your physician, please call Edward-Elmhurst Central Scheduling to schedule with Naperville Radiology at Edward Hospital at (630) 527-3200.

CT Chest, Abdomen, or Pelvis (with or without contrast)

Computed Tomography (CT) of the Chest, Abdomen, and/or Pelvis is a non-invasive imaging modality to view your organs, lymph nodes, vessels, fat, and bones. There are numerous reasons why a CT can be required.  The examination can be utilized without contrast material or with oral or intravenous contrast depending on the symptoms and what your physician is looking for.  Naperville Radiologists have Board-Certified Radiologists who have extensive experience in interpreting Body CT. If you and your physician think you are in need of a CT and you have an order from your physician, please call Edward-Elmhurst Central Scheduling to schedule with Naperville Radiology at Edward Hospital at (630) 527-3200.

CT Angiography (CTA) of the Chest, Abdomen, Pelvis, or Extremities

CT angiogram is a non-invasive imaging modality to view arteries in your body as well as blood flow to various organs. There are many reasons why a CT angiogram can be required such as symptomatic narrowing of the blood vessel, bleeding, or evaluation of tumors. The procedure involves injection contrast through an IV and taking Computed Tomography (CT) images. The benefits of CTA over a conventional angiogram is the speed of the exam and no catheters within arteries are required. Naperville Radiologists have Board-Certified Radiologists who have extensive experience in interpreting CT Angiography. If you and your physician think you are in need of a CTA and you have an order from your physician, please call Edward-Elmhurst Central Scheduling to schedule with Naperville Radiology at Edward Hospital at (630) 527-3200.

CT Low-Dose Lung Cancer Screening

CT Lung screening is a non-invasive imaging procedure which utilizes low-dose CT (x-ray) to image the lungs without using intravenous contrast. The CT images are then reviewed by a board-certified Naperville Radiologists to identify nodules and identify if they are benign, malignant appearing, or whether additional testing needs to be completed. The early detection of lung tumors can increase the survival rate with early treatment. In addition to the lungs, the other areas of the chest are also reviewed for additional abnormalities. Typically, patients that qualify for CT lung screening are patients with a history of smoking, lung cancer, or exposure to other cancer-causing agents. The results of any abnormal screening test is discussed within a multidisciplinary conference which allows different specialties to work together to create the optimal follow-up or treatment plan.  If you qualify for a CT Lung Screening and have an order from your physician, please call Edward-Elmhurst Central Scheduling to schedule with Naperville Radiology at Edward Hospital at (630) 527-3200.

MRI Angiography (MRA) of the Chest, Abdomen, Pelvis, or Extremities)

MR angiogram is a non-invasive imaging modality to view arteries in your body as well as blood flow to various organs. There are many reasons why a MR angiogram can be required such as symptomatic narrowing of the blood vessel, evaluate amount of blood flow to organs, or evaluation of tumors to name a few. The procedure involves injection contrast through an IV and taking Magnetic Resonance (MR) images. The benefits of MRA over a conventional angiogram is the speed of the exam and no catheters within arteries are required. Naperville Radiologists have Board-Certified Radiologists who have extensive experience in interpreting MR Angiography. If you and your physician think you are in need of a MRA and you have an order from your physician, please call Edward-Elmhurst Central Scheduling to schedule with Naperville Radiology at Edward Hospital at (630) 527-3200.

MRI Abdomen/Pelvis

Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) of the abdomen is a non-invasive imaging technique which allows a better evaluation of the abdomen and pelvis.  Naperville Radiologists have Board-Certified Radiologists who have extensive experience in interpreting Body (Abdomen/Pelvis) MRI. If you and your physician think you are in need of a MRI of the Abdomen or Pelvis and you have an order from your physician, please call Edward-Elmhurst Central Scheduling to schedule with Naperville Radiology at Edward Hospital at (630) 527-3200.

MRI Prostate

Prostate imaging using Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) is a non-invasive imaging technique which allows a better evaluation for possible cancer if your prostate-specific antigen (PSA) level is elevated or if there is recurrence in a previously treated prostate.  It also can determine the extent of prostate cancer and whether the cancer has spread elsewhere. Prostate MRI can also detect other conditions such as infection or benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) and help in radiotherapy treatment planning.  Naperville Radiologists have Board-Certified Radiologists who have extensive experience in interpreting Prostate MRI. If you and your physician think you are in need of a prostate MRI and you have an order from your physician, please call Edward-Elmhurst Central Scheduling to schedule with Naperville Radiology at Edward Hospital at (630) 527-3200.

Ultrasound Abdomen or Pelvis (including Liver, Spleen, Kidneys, Gallbladder, Bladder, Uterus, etc.)

An ultrasound is a non-invasive imaging modality to view your organs, lymph nodes, and vessels to name a few. There are numerous reasons why an ultrasound can be required.  The benefit of ultrasound over CT is the lack of radiation.  Naperville Radiologists have Board-Certified Radiologists who have extensive experience in interpreting ultrasounds of the abdomen. If you and your physician think you are in need of an ultrasound of the abdomen and you have an order from your physician, please call Edward-Elmhurst Central Scheduling to schedule with Naperville Radiology at Edward Hospital at (630) 527-3200.

Ultrasound Pregnancy

Pregnancy Ultrasound is a non-invasive imaging modality to evaluate the fetus, uterus, placenta, vessels as well as other pelvic structures such as ovaries depending on the age of the fetus and size of the uterus. The benefit of ultrasound over CT is the lack of radiation and the ability to evaluate the fetal organs in better definition. The ultrasound can confirm the pregnancy and determine the age of the baby and give an estimated delivery date. In addition, evaluation of the baby’s growth and identifying any abnormalities in such areas such as the brain, kidneys, heart or spine can be identified by ultrasound. Naperville Radiologists have Board-Certified Radiologists who have extensive experience in interpreting fetal ultrasound. If you and your physician think you are in need of an ultrasound and you have an order from your physician, please call Edward-Elmhurst Central Scheduling to schedule with Naperville Radiology at Edward Hospital at (630) 527-3200.

Vascular Ultrasound (Doppler/Duplex)

Ultrasound Doppler/Duplex is a non-invasive imaging modality to evaluate your vessels as well as flow to your organs. There are numerous reasons why an ultrasound doppler can be required such as evaluating for clot (thrombus) and identifying a narrowing or occlusion of a vessel.  The benefit of ultrasound over CT is the lack of radiation.  Naperville Radiologists have Board-Certified Radiologists who have extensive experience in interpreting vascular ultrasounds. If you and your physician think you are in need of a vascular ultrasound and you have an order from your physician, please call Edward-Elmhurst Central Scheduling to schedule with Naperville Radiology at Edward Hospital at (630) 527-3200.
